It’s been quite a long time since the first promo of MUNNA BHAI CHALE AMERIKA was showcased but nothing much was heard about the project after that. Lead actor Sanjay Dutt got busy with politics and other films and director Raj Kumar Hirani with 3 IDIOTS.
However, since the release and stupendous success of 3 IDIOTS, there are rumours doing the rounds that the latest Kapoor on the block, Ranbir Kapoor, has been roped in to play the iconic role of Munna Bhai in the project. So, how true are these stories? Arshad ’Circuit’ Warsi, Munna Bhai’s Man Friday in both the MUNNA BHAI films, clears the air on the casting of the film.
Arshad has gone on record to say that come what may, it will once again be Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi essaying the iconic characters of Munna Bhai and Circuit in MUNNA BHAI CHALE AMERIKA. In an exclusive chat to a reliable source, Arshad revealed that Raju Hirani had spoken to him after he finished 3 IDIOTS and presently Raju is working on the script. He added that since Raju is a very meticulous planner it will be a while before the film starts to roll. Arshad also felt that it would not be a sensible idea to cast anyone else in the roles which have come to be associated with Sanju and Arshad and remarked lightheartedly that he is aware that Rajkumar Hirani is a very sensible guy!
Certainly Arshad has gladdened the hearts of all the countless lovers and fans of MUNNA BHAI series and here’s hoping that the film starts to roll soon!
